Peter Swanson got me to read ‘The Girl on the Train’ and ‘Gone Girl.’ My stubborn streak wouldn’t let me buy them. The fact that they generated so much hype was off-putting to me. Mainstream successes of that sort are rarely as good as everyone says.

But then I read ‘The Kind Worth Killing,’ and I loved it. Everyone compared the novel to ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘The Girl on the Train,’ which was all the endorsement I needed to give them a shot.

Swanson’s books are slow burns. He spends several chapters building the tension and setting the stage for the conflict to come before delivering a satisfying payoff.

Peter Swanson’s a great psychological thriller and suspense authors. He creates strong female characters in his tightly woven stories no wonder some of his books have been optioned for film.
I felt that ‘Before she knew Him’ was more of a thriller than a mystery novel. The twists never felt forced, and the story flowed well with the intriguing characters.
Peter Swanson creates dark characters caught up in very clever storylines you might ever encounter. ‘Every Vow You Break’ was one of my most anticipated reads and turned out to be a fantastic mystery tale. I’ve liked most of his novels, so I was sure the novel would not disappoint me.

The first book I read by Peter Swanson was THE KIND WORTH KILLING and enjoyed it. I had never heard of this author so that book made me read THE GIRL WITH A CLOCK FOR A HEART. I hate to put a spoiler in here but readers should know about the following: I really was enjoying the story except there was no ending!!! Don’t waste precious reading time on this book. I’m now wondering if I should read any of his others because I don’t want to be disappointed again.

I would highly recommend reading Before She Knew Him, Eight Perfect Murders and Every Vow You Break. Thought all 3 were terrific.
