Ken Bruen is my kind of author. A friend recommended the author to me after I watched Blitz. Jason Statham is my primary guilty pleasure in movies. I love most of his projects.

And once I learned that Blitz was a Ken Bruen adaptation, I decided to give him a read. He did not disappoint. Don’t get me wrong. I am all for long, flowery descriptions.

But sometimes, I prefer short, punchy sentences. Bruen’s style is terse. He likes to get to the point instead of meandering through long unnecessary explanations.

As a result, his stories feel clean and polished. I don’t enjoy stories told in the first person, but I always make an exception for Bruen.
