The nominees for the 2024 Barry Awards have been announced by Deadly Pleasures Magazine.
The Barry Awards are some of the most celebrated literary awards, which have been going on since 1997. Named for reviewer Barry Gardner, they honour the best books in the mystery and thriller genres for that year.
This year, there are four categories – Best Mystery/Crime Novel, Best First Mystery/Crime Novel, Best Paperback Original, and Best Thriller.
Past winners of the various awards include (but are not limited to) Stieg Larsson, Robert Crais, John Connolly, Val McDermid, John Harvey, Denise Mina, Ken Bruen, Donna Andrews, Alan Bradley, Peter Robinson, Nevada Barr, Dennis Lehane, William Kent Krueger, Michael Connelly, and so many more great and accomplished authors than we can list.
The nominees for this year’s Barry Awards are as follows:

Best Paperback Original Mystery/Crime Novel
Best Thriller
