I don’t know why, but every time I see Sheila Roberts’ name on Amazon, I expect her novels to bore me with tried and tested romance cliches and topes. Fortunately, I always resist those assumptions because she surprises me at every turn.
Just look at Beachside Beginnings, which is unexpectedly grounded in the way it tackles abuse and addiction. And then there’s ‘What She Wants,’ which flips the formula by telling a seemingly predictable story through a male lens.
Even when she delivers simple, fluffy romance, Sheila’s novels have a warm but hard-hitting message that is difficult to ignore. She challenges her readers without beating them down.
