Favorite novel of Elin Hilderbrand’s books would probably be 28 Summers, but I’ve enjoyed every single one of them. They are all page turners and a new one from her ensures I get nothing done but reading the book.
Her character development in Golden Girl was rather phenomenal, and just a beautiful read. Elin just immerses you into their lives, and it is easy to feel like you know the characters personally. Main takeaway from the novel, for me at least, was that you can be flawed in many ways, but that does not mean you are not a good person.
I loved the Winter Street series of novels and I was glad to hear that Elin Hilderbrand had written another series in the Paradise series.
Set in St John in the Virgin Islands, the series is an intriguing trilogy with some of the most interesting characters in romance fiction.
My best of the series is Winter in Paradise which is the epitome of a contemporary family drama written just right as it combines romance, heartache and just the right amount of tension.
The lead is Irene Steele who has to be one of all time favorite characters. She faces several challenges that include trying to keep her secrets, trying to forgive while at the same time also grieving which makes for a roller coaster of emotions.
Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite fiction authors, and since I began reading his work, he has never disappointed me. The Nantucket series was the first work I read by Elin, and I found it so refreshing and thrilling In her first book of the Nantucket series, Elin teaches us no one knows someone is going through behind closed doors even though they may look happy and organized on the outside. Some people seem happy when they see Claire’s life going out of control. Elin goes further to show us the importance of love, family, and self-esteem. The author gives a healthy dose of intrigue to leave you yearning for more in the Paradise series. The Winter series is about family life and drama, and I really liked the plot.
I’ve never been to Nantucket. In fact, I’ve never stepped foot on US soil. But I’ve read so many Elin Hilderbrand novels over the years that I feel like I know Nantucket as intimately as my home district.
Or, at the very least, I know the Nantucket that Elin sees. Some people call her books ‘beach reads,’ and I guess that classification is somewhat accurate. But I typically associate the term ‘Breach Read’ with fluffy romance, the kind you read in a day and forget.
Elin’s stories are poignant and thought-provoking. They will stay with you for months. I lent 28 summers to a friend. It was stained with tears when she returned it.
Another of my favorite authors is Elin Hilderbrand. She tends to have well developed plot lines and it’s easy to keep track of her characters. She tends to be my favorite summer read.
