Thursdays at Eight is probably my favorite of Debbie’s booklist. Love the friendship and sisterhood that the characters have, and how all of these different women get close to each other and stand by one another.
Another good read would have to be It’s Better This Way. As it is such a cozy read that made me cry in a couple of spots.
Twenty Wishes is another novel worth recommending, as it is heartwarming and encouraging. Each of the characters are just so relatable and a very inspirational novel.
Debbie just does a fantastic job of making each of her novels uplifting and make my life happier.
I love anything by Debbie Macomber as there is something that is just so comforting and cozy about her works. My favorite Macomber characters have always been females of a certain age as he younger female leads tend to frustrate. In several of the novels including 16 Lighthouse Road, her younger female characters are always running back and forth before finally giving themselves to love and commitment. Still, Debbie Macomber expertly fashions some bizarre circumstances for her characters that kept me guessing as she usually resolves them slowly over the series. Apart from the 16 Lighthouse novel, I have also enjoyed the very cozy Twenty Wishes novel which has some very relatable characters and some inspiring story lines
Debbie Macomber is a truly gifted writer! 16 Lighthouse is a cozy read for anyone who has undergone a life tragedy. The author creates a great read in Cedar Cove and develops a bunch of fascinating characters. Olivia is my favorite character even though the rest are also amazing. I was following the relationship between Olivia and Jack to take off. Olivia’s mother Charlotte adds humor to lighten the mood during dark times of the story. Ian and Randall are satisfying and at times I felt sorry for them then the next minute I felt like advising them to sit down and talk to work out things. The 2013 American Canadian adaptation of Cedar Cove series is also as thrilling as the books.
I first found out about this writer’s books through the adaptation of her Cedar Cove series. While her subject matter wasn’t in my usual view, I was interested enough to pick up the first book in the series. The quick-witted characters and speedy pacing of the story meant it was a quick and fun read, and I went back to the finish off the rest of the series. I ended up trying out several of her other series, all of which had the same feel as the CC books. I also discovered that Macomber is a prolific Christmas story writer, doing both novels and short stories on the holiday, any of which will make you feel the Xmas spirit.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I watch Cedar Cove. Well, that isn’t true. I just joined a book club that has what some might call snobbish opinions about entertainment. They would probably scoff at Cedar Cove. But I like it.
A family member called it relaxing and comfortable, and I agree. Some shows are too much work. They weigh the viewing process down with excessive amounts of tension. Tension can improve the viewing experience. It can also induce stress in people like me whose jobs are already highly stressful.
When I come home, I want to spend the last few hours of my day reading a Debbie Macomber novel or watching her Hallmark TV show.
Fantastic ‘feel good’ writer of many novels that are always captivating. Some are a bit predictable, but overall very enjoyable.
My favorite Debbie Macomber books are her Cedar Cove series. Her stories will keep your attention with good plots.
