If George R.R. Martin is the king of fantasy, Robin Hobb is the emperor. Speaking of Martin, he once referred to her books as diamonds. So clearly, he agrees that she’s the best thing that has ever happened to the genre.
I still remember the day I started reading Fitz’s story as a teen. I had no idea that it would take Hobb more than 20 years to bring the bastard prince’s saga to a close. I am still three books away from the finish line.
I intend to binge them all during my upcoming vacation, but I can hardly contain my excitement. I don’t expect Hobb to let me down. Her mastery over worldbuilding and storytelling is unparalleled.
