Dee Henderson weaves scripture, romance and mystery which is the format I have grown to love over the more than a decade I have been reading her novels.
As a practicing Christian, I have always been a fan of the more religious components of her novels and I have greatly enjoyed the An Unfinished Death and the Immortality which have more scriptures and biblical references than most of her other works.
Still I love a good mystery and romance especially anything with a twist which Dee Henderson always delivers. I am often surprised to run a page to find that Dee is taking a new direction with her characters and plot lines.
My favorite of the Dee Henderson characters are the inspirational O’Malleys, who are orphaned or abandoned teens that rose from the ashes to become a committed and loyal family.
These are romantic suspense and inspirational novels that restore hope to the spirit and rock the heart.
I enjoy telling people that Dee Henderson writes romantic suspense. I emphasize the genre whenever Dee becomes the topic of conversation because I know that some people will scoff. They don’t expect much from Christian authors, which is why I take great pleasure in putting a Dee Henderson novel in their hands and watching as their perceptions slowly change.
Dee doesn’t hide her beliefs. They are front and center. However, her books are not Bibles in disguise. She makes a concerted effort to tell interesting stories, which is why I appreciate her work so much. Her characters wouldn’t feel out of place in a secular romantic suspense novel.
