‘The Last Templar’ is not the poor man’s Davinci Code. I don’t know where I heard that comparison, but it was the one opinion I held about ‘The Last Templar,’ which is why I avoided it for so long.
I also ignored the adaptation. You can thank my book club for finally forcing me to read the novel. It wasn’t quite what I expected. Yes, the Dan Brown comparisons are well-deserved, but only on a superficial level.
‘The Last Templar’ is superior, especially for history enthusiasts. At the very least, the novel is better written. I already bought ‘The Templar Salvation.’ Although, I may not read it for a while. My TBR list is quite long.
