Described on his website as a disabled, queer French Canadian, Dominik resides in Canada in Ottawa, Ontario and is an award-winning editor. He has edited various anthologies which have won awards over the years, and has also guest edited magazines such as Fireside Magazine and The FOLD Program.

"We, Old Young Ones" was more of a poetry chapbook, while "Side Effects May Include Strangers" was the first poetry collection Dominik released.
