Trisha Telep
Trisha Telep is an editor of anthologies, primarily known for editing
The Mammoth series of anthologies. Trisha was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, although she lived in the UK for the majority of her life.
That was not Trisha's only work in the book world; however, she worked at Murder One, a niche bookstore in the UK primarily focused on the crime and mystery genres, although it also branched out into other genres, such as romance.
The bookstore, located on Charing Cross Road, existed from 1998 to 2009. Trisha worked there as the purchaser of romance and fantasy books. After the store closed due to the owner's retirement, she became the co-owner as the bookstore moved online for a period of time.
It was at the tail end of her work there that Trisha Telep started working as an anthology editor.
The first anthology she edited was
The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance; this was during the height of that genre's popularity and was the 450th
Mammoth book released.
That anthology had short stories from Karen Chance, Lilith Saintcrow, Keri Arthur, and more. In the introduction to
The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance, Trisha mentions her time at the bookstore and that during that period, she would see so much interest from people looking at books in the paranormal romance genre.
This anthology aimed to compile the most extensive collection of new paranormal romance stories in one volume.
Trisha specialized in the paranormal romance genre for the majority of her career as an anthology editor. She followed up her debut anthology with, em>The Eternal Kiss, which had 13 longer stories featuring some big-name authors such as
Cassandra Clare and
Kelley Armstrong.
While Trisha specialized in Paranormal Romance editing, including two
Mammothh Book of Paranormal Romance anthologies, she also worked in various other genres related to romance.
In 2013, she edited
The Mammoth Book of ER Romance, a collection of stories of romantic suspense set in a hospital setting. As she says in the introduction of that anthology - "There's something incredibly sexy about the Hippocratic oath".
Trisha also edited
Corsets & Clockworks, which was part of the Mammoth book line and was focused on Steampunk romance.
Trisha has also written articles for publications such as Publishers Weekly over the years.
