It’s a shame that Caine died so young. I have followed her career ever since she published that first Morganville novel in the early 2000s. My local bookstore was overflowing with vampire novels at the time, for all the obvious reasons, and I think I read all of them.
The store would introduce new titles every year, and I would consume them without hesitation. Most of them came from new authors trying to cash in on the vampire craze. But in the years that followed, I dropped them all, except for Caine.
She was the only one whose books kept me entertained year after year. She will be missed.
