Max Monroe lost me early on. Tapping the Billionaire did not work for me. It had one of those obnoxiously steamy covers that I hate. And the contents of the book did not improve my opinion of the author.
The fact that I read Tapping the Billionaire to completion says something about Monroe’s engrossing writing style. I wasn’t bored. I just couldn’t bring myself to care for the characters and their plight.
Banking the Billionaire is a different story. It has the same obnoxious cover, the kind that is clearly trying too hard to hook you. But in this case, the novel had real substance. Monroe gave me all the sweetness and fun that I expect to see in a romantic comedy. I think I’ll read some more.
