The thing about Colleen Hoover is that you never know what you are going to get reading her novels.
One thing you can expect though is one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Reading her novels always gives me so many conflicting feelings as there are parts of the stories I absolutely loved while there were characters and stories I hated.
The novel Confess is a heart wrenching fresh and unforgettable work. In it are tangled and twisted stories of redemption, deception, hope, pain, truths, love, secrets and loss.
Hopeless which is another novel you just have to read is a beautiful and unique page turner that I never could put down until I was finished reading it. It immediately joined my list of my favorite works that definitely deserves a reread every few years or so.
People should stop using the word ‘Unputdownable.’ I hate it. I kept telling people that it wasn’t a real word. But then I did a Google search and realized I was wrong. You can find it in the dictionary today.
But it’s such a clunky term, and I can’t stand it. That being said, I can’t think of a better word than ‘Unputdownable’ to describe Colleen Hoover’s books. She’s a master at her craft.
I discovered her work after a friend mentioned that Colleen had tasked a musician with creating a soundtrack for ‘Maybe Someday.’ It sounded like a silly gimmick, which is why I’m yet to read ‘Maybe Someday.’
But I will eventually get to it. I finished ‘It Ends with Us’ the other day, and it floored me. Colleen is incredible.
My daughter ranted and raved about how great her books are so I thought I’d give one a try. It was ok as I felt it put a person on an emotional roller coaster. Definitely not my thing. I guess I like more feel good, or consistency in my novels. She’s popular with the younger crowd though!
Verity caught me off guard! Excellent book!
