Lucy Foley manages to stir an emotional reaction in every scene and character.
The Book of the Lost and Found was a captivating read and caught my attention right from the beginning to the end.
The determination Kate inherited from her ballerina mother kept her moving until she learned about her past.
The descriptions of Corsica were great, and I loved how the story was developed to learn more about Kate’s granny.
I liked the slow-building tension in The Guestlist. The novel revolves around different POVs, and Lucy does a superb job of making it easy to follow. The story is so real In that even though weddings are happy occasions; sometimes drama may arise. It was my favorite book, followed by The Invitation.

I would have hated books like ‘The Hunting Party’ if anyone else had written them. Foley’s stories have too many characters. I am an impatient reader that can’t be bothered to remember the names and backstories of multiple characters in books with large casts.

Also, it doesn’t take much to confuse me. And yet, Lucy Foley’s writing always hooks me. I don’t choose to focus so intently on every word she writes. Foley’s style draws me in naturally because I know that her sentences are littered with clues that may reveal the killer’s identity before the end.

I rarely decipher her mysteries before she reveals the answers. But I still enjoy the process of trying and failing to find the truth.
