James does a fantastic job of weaving historical facts, places, and happenings into his work. He is a skillful storyteller and his work is always well researched. He combines historical detail with great adventure, mystery, characters, and education in what amount to incredible page turners.

James also combines some of the best traits of fantasy and science fiction, giving scientific, modern day explanations to rationalize certain mystical occurrences in his work. He does this to great effect in Sandstorm, which also features some realistic and likable characters: like Saffy, Omaha, and Painter Crowe. You root for Omaha to make things right with Saffy in the novel.

Does anyone know what the status of the movie adaptation of “Map of Bones” is? I had read that it was going to be a movie, but that was a few years back. Honestly, any of the Sigma Force book list would make a great movie, but it seemed like this one was so close.

This could be like The Expendables, but so much better. (Sorry, Sly!) A dream cast with Josh Brolin, Chris Pine, and Maggie Q as Gemma Chan could really be something.

I discovered James Rollins after buying ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,’ the novelization, not the movie. I despise the movie, and I couldn’t help but wonder whether the novelization would improve my appreciation of the film.

I still haven’t read it. The novel is sitting somewhere on one of my devices, completely forgotten. But I commend it for introducing Rollins to me. After reading Sigma Force, I can understand why they chose him to write the Indiana Jones novel.

His characters would fit right in with Indiana Jones. Every time I buy a Sigma Force book, I expect tons of action, globe-trotting adventure, and entertainment. So far, Rollins hasn’t disappointed.

I loved the 2 Tucker Wayne novels. Kane is certainly a talented canine partner. I’m disappointed that there has not been a third instalment.
