Tony Barbieri is primarily known for his writings in comedy and his performances on the likes of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. He has also written for Mad Magazine’s Monroe, the monthly satirical comic strip that ran from 1997 to 2010. He also has credits writing for television.

Barbieri was a member of The Big Three comedy team alongside Don Barris and Perry Caravello. The trio featured in the Bobcat Goldthwait-directed movie Windy City Heat.

In 2003, became a writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live. In his role as Jake Byrd, he satirized celebrity spectacles such as the arrest of Paris Hilton and the trial of Michael Jackson. The character was so realistic that many publications were convinced he was a real person and even quoted him on several occasions.

During the 2024 Presidential elections, he posed as a rabid supporter of Donald Trump as he showcased typical fractions of Trump supporters to anything negative against the candidate. He gained a lot of notoriety for his parodies and even became a viral meme on the social media platform Twitter.

In 2008, Tony Barbieri’s song I’m F**king Matt Damon, which he performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live won an Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award.
