    Susan came very close to making an enemy out of me. I remember reading ‘It Had to Be You’ and getting angrier with each passing second because Susan presented Dan, the hero, as a pedophile. I understand what she was doing. But I think she kept the ruse going for far too long.

    Fortunately, she righted the ship and revealed the truth. I only stuck around because Phoebe was a great heroine. I love Susan’s heroines, especially the glitzy, girly characters.

    Contemporary authors think that crafting a strong female character means stripping them of their feminine qualities. I’m glad to see that Susan hasn’t gone that route.
