I was too young when I read these books. I blew through the Twilight Saga in middle school and thought, ‘Eeh, this vampire thing isn’t for me.’ Who knew that P.C. Cast was waiting around the corner to enchant me?
I think I can get behind the author’s House of Night series because the characters are young, but they are so intelligent. You don’t get quite as much whining as you expect from YA characters of this ilk.
I don’t like Cast’s spelling for vampire (Vampyre). I don’t know why it rubs me the wrong way. I think it just sounds pretentious. But that’s a nitpick. These books are awesome.
The House of Night series is a bit of a different take on your classic vampire story – think vampire academy! I like the story and the characters too. Would def recommend for a binge worthy series – there are a fair few books in the series (as well as some novellas) which is nice!
