Olaf Stapledon (William Olaf Stapledon ) was born on May 10th, 1886. Olaf passed away September 6th, 1950 at 64 years old. Olaf Stapledon was born in Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire, , England. Stapledon attended Balliol College, Oxford where he received a BA degree in Modern History and University of Liverpool where he received a PhD degree in Philosophy.
Olaf Stapledon (William Olaf Stapledon ) is probably best known for his Standalone Novels. There are currently 12 novels available. The first standalone was released in 1930 with the novel Last and First Men. The most recently released novel was Nebula Maker which was released in 1976.

Stapledon’s book A Modern Magician, a short film written, produced, and starring Kate Hodgson and Justin McDonald, was released in 2019. The film was directed by Mark Heller and also featured the voice of Brian Cox. It was the first live-action take on any of Stapledon's books.
