I learned from this one from the Book Series In Order newsletter. They said “If you like Reacher, read this” and so glad I did. They nailed it. Big fan of Reacher but dare I say – Peter Ash may be better!
Peter Ash is a fantastic character that I’ve just been introduced to and cannot wait to jump into further adventures with him.
There are times when his writing feels like poetry and rather beautiful with vivid descriptions that allow the reader to smell, hear, see, or feel precisely what’s going on in whatever story. Wild One is set in Iceland, and it feels as though you are right there, with Peter on the adventure.
His writing, in the three I’ve read, has improved immensely, and the characters and plot develop nicely. Nick does a wonderful job of weaving in some real heart into these characters to boot.
I fell for Peter Ash in book one. This won’t surprise anyone who knows me. I love Lee Child, and Peter Ash is basically Jack Reacher. Is he better? I don’t know. Or rather, I won’t see.
Who knows how Reacher fans will respond to my blasphemous comments? In all seriousness, Ash is my kind of guy, a dangerous loner looking for a purpose in life.
I started reading this series because Lee Child wrote a blurb for one of Petrie’s books. Because I trust Lee child, I decided to give Petrie a chance. He did not disappoint. Now, all I need is a crossover between Ash and Reacher.
Graeme turned me on to the Peter Ash series and it’s very good. Thanks Graeme!
Great to hear Phil. I hold a special place in my heart for this series as everyone who is a Reacher fan seems to always love this recommendation. Always so nice to have a safe “go to” recommendation 🙂 Cheers
Read Nick’s first book in the Peter Ash series “The Drifter” and.must say this is a “can’t put this book down” novel. Mr. Petrie has done an excellent job of writing in that you can easily visualize what is happening as the you read on. I had a hard time limiting my time reading this book…15 minutes easily turns into an hour because you just have to see what happens next with the characters. Highly recommend reading this bookl.
I started the Peter Ash series because of a recommendation for those who like Reacher. I haven’t stayed with it so now I’m enjoying catching up, Peter Ash is an interesting character, likes to help others, sees the good in people and is learning to deal with a left-over complication from experiences in war time.
Peter Ash, Louis and June make a great team. I could do without all the f words that are frequently scattered thru the book but I enjoy the story.
The Runaway – very much enjoy the Peter Ash Series, thanks to Graeme!!, and looking forward to the next one.
The Price You Pay – very apt title. I have read every book in this series and now waiting until another one comes out…..whenever.
