Melinda Leigh’s novel Drown Her Sorrows is an enjoyable story and has quite the surprising plot twist in it.
Her novels have some real people in them that the readers easily connect with, and the books begin with action scenes right off the bat. In either the Bree or Morgan series, she does an outstanding job of diving down deep into the minds of psychotic killers.
Loved reading the Morgan Dane series and enjoyed the complex plots and adventures she would get into. Excited though to check out more about Bree Taggert, who is both a protector and a survivor.
I cannot decide whether Melinda Leigh writes mystery thrillers with romantic elements or romance novels with mystery/thriller components. Then again, the last time I checked, romantic suspense was a real genre.
Though, I have no idea what it entails. So, I can’t tell you whether or not it makes sense to classify Melinda’s stories as romantic suspense. It doesn’t matter.
The books scratch an itch I did not know I had. I don’t have the patience for romance novels, not anymore. Also, I haven’t purchased a mystery thriller in a long time. A series like ‘Morgan Dane’ that combines the two is precisely what I needed.
Melinda Leigh has developed some strong female protagonists with the Morgan Dane and Bree Taggert series. I agree with Michael K. on the romantic element. Not a fan of romance novels as such, but I do enjoy a bit of romance added to the mix.
Book #7 in the Bree Taggert series, Catch Her Death, definitely played more on a community (family) theme. A tight knit family is being developed; and with the addition of a K-9 Unit to the series, animal lovers will find the series expanding to their likes as well.
