The Bull Rider’s Brother by Lynn Cahoon is an ideal book for anyone who loves a story with heart, soul, and little rodeo. I’m also a big fan of the tourist trap mystery series. I like Cahoon’s talent of creating fleshed characters, offering amazing locations to give gripping stories that keep the reader on edge. The sweet and touching story pulled me right from the beginning, and I found it hard to put down. Lyn developed a hero that every lady would admire. The settings of modern Idaho, the atmosphere of a small town, and characters from rural America are unique and lovable. The Bull Rider series is my favorite but is also found the Cat Latimer series fascinating. Cat is my favorite character, and its touching how sympathetic she was after learning about her ex-husband’s death.
Lynn Cahoon is one of the least prolific authors I follow. And by that, I mean her online presence is somewhat muted, at least in comparison to other authors in the same genre.
Speaking of genres, I never know how to recommend her. I know she writes cozy mysteries, but I have friends who can’t stand romance. And yet, Lynn’s books have so much romance that sometimes I feel like my librarian classified them under the wrong category.
Some of her books wouldn’t feel out of place on a bodice ripper shelf. I think she’s still a great pick for my friends. But the strong romance elements would probably surprise them.
