These books of Karen Kingsbury’s touch my soul and encourage my faith. Each of her novels do a wonderful job of transporting you back into the place and time. It feels more like you are living and breathing the story while reading it. Her characters are sure to stick with you after you have finished it.

She writes from the heart and shares her faith with each book. It’s no surprise that I’ve read her books at least twice and enjoyed them all quite a bit.

Divine was the toughest novel of hers, for me, but still up to her usual standard and remains a favorite.

Redemption is so far my favorite Karen Kingsbury novel. However, it was not my first as I read three other novels in no particular order before I thought I should start from the beginning.

The Redemption series is the story of the close knit and seemingly genuine Baxter family. However there are many fractures that threaten to take down what from the outside seems perfect.

It took me a while to get into the rhythm of Redemption having laid off of the series for a while. I believe this has to do with the fact that Christian fiction has grown a lot over the years.

It was only when I had read about a third of the novel when Kingsbury really came into her own and made me remember why I love her writing so much.

Karen Kingsbury writes some very realistic novels and the many challenges that plague the Baxter family makes for realistic stories.

Thanks to this list of books, Karen Kingsbury is one of the few Christian fiction authors I recently discovered.
In her books, she shows how God can redeem hopeless relationships and that there is no shame in trying to fix broken marriages.
My favorite series is Redemption, but Lost love is also adorable.
I love how Kingsbury writes books that help Christians deal with the issues they face from time to time.
The Baxter’s family faith in Redemption Series was so comforting to read about, and the family’s diversity is lovable.
I’m now on the second book of Firstborn series and I already find it thrilling.
Kingsbury develops her characters so well for the reader to understand them better.

It has become a common cliché to praise a Christian author by suggesting that their books are not preachy. But as someone that reads a lot of Christian fiction, I have never understood reviewers who criticize Christian fiction for being too preachy.

It is called Christian fiction. What do you expect? It would be the equivalent of criticizing Lee Child’s books for having too much action. Christian authors tell Christian stories. This is why I like Karen Kingsbury. Her books are drenched in her Christian faith.

I read Christian fiction because I want to consume stories with a Christian leaning, and she delivers on that front.
