Some of my friends are cinephiles, and I remember how obsessed they were with The Dry back in 2020. I still haven’t seen it. However, they cannot accuse me of being an uncultured swine because I took things to the next level. I actually read the novel from which the movie was adapted.
It wasn’t the fast-paced thriller I expected, but it was still awesome. The prologue sent chills down my spine. Harper’s writing has no equal. Now, my friends and I have entered the second week of our proverbial staring contest. I refuse to watch the movie until they read the book. They won’t read the book until I watch the movie. One of us will give in at some point.
