I’ve been on the Jane Casey train ever since she gave us The Burning Man. I don’t understand people who think the Maeve Kerrigan books are slow. How is that a weakness?
I would happily take subtle, slow-paced police procedurals over the loud, action-heavy books the thriller genre is churning out these days. Or maybe I’m just entranced by Casey’s prose. I mean, who else writes so descriptively?
I don’t think she’s flashy. But again, that isn’t a weakness. She puts you in the shoes of her characters, allowing you to see their world with astounding clarity. This just works. I don’t know how many more Maeve Kerrigan books she plans to write but I want more. Give me more, Casey.
