People like Thomas Greer are the subject of intense debate in the online forums I frequent. Some people hate the fact that they reveal military secrets. Others cannot wait to eat up every classified detail they can find in these novels.
I don’t know anything about the Army, and I couldn’t begin to tell you whether the information in Thomas Greer’s books is accurate or not. What I know is this: the novels he writes as Dalton Fury are immensely entertaining.
Some sections of his books are slow, bogged down by unnecessary detail. But if I’m being honest, I only notice those slow bits because other people mention them. I think they have grown to expect non-stop action from Fury. Therefore, quieter moments catch them off guard. I don’t mind either way. Greer was a talented storyteller. It’s a shame that he died so young.
