Chuck Palahniuk: TV/Movies Based on Books

Fight Club was the first work of Palahniuk to be adapted into a film. The script was written by Jim Uhls and was directed by David Fincher. Edward Narrator played the Narrator and Brad Pitt played Tyler Durden in the film. Initially the film had mixed reviews from critics and wasn't a big box ofice hit, but it had a lot of success on DVD. Fight Club has since become a cult hit and is considered one of the best films of 1999.

The second Palahniuk book to be turned into a film was Choke, released as a film in 2008. The film starred Sam Rockwell as Victor Mancini and Anjelica Huston as Ida Mancini, Victor's mother. The film was praised for its casting and won a Special Jury Prize for a dramatic work by an ensemble cast at the Sundance Film Festival.
