Agatha Christie (Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller) was born on September 15th, 1890. Agatha passed away January 12th, 1976 at 85 years old. Agatha Christie was born in Torquay, Devon, England.

Agatha Christie was the author of the Hercule Poirot Short Stories/Novellas series which consists of 40 novels. The Hercule Poirot Short Stories/Novellas series started in 1923 with the novel The Adventure of the Cheap Flat. The most recently released novel in the Hercule Poirot Short Stories/Novellas series was The Case of the Missing Will which was released in 2019. There are no upcoming novels for the Hercule Poirot Short Stories/Novellas series.

Agatha Christie (Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller) also wrote the Hercule Poirot series which has 39 books including The Mysterious Affair at Styles and The Murder on the Links.

Agatha Christie has won multiple awards including: The Edgar Award, Grand Master, in 1955, , Nero Award, Archie Goodwin Award, in 2005, and the Crime Thriller Awards, International Crime Writing Hall of Fame Award, in 2008.

Watching the adaptations based off of Agatha’s work, it’s interesting who gets cast to play her famous detectives.

Personally, I found Albert Finney to be fine as Poirot, but loved Peter Ustinov in the role. Obviously, David Suchet does such a fantastic job of bringing the character to life and embodying the character. It’s just too bad that so much was done to try bringing Kenneth Branagh’s version to the twenty-first century that a lot ends up lost.

When it comes to Miss Marple, I can’t think of anybody playing the character beyond Angela Lansbury who did such a fine job in “The Mirror Crack’d” adaptation.
