Voddie T. Baucham Jr.
Voddie T. Baucham Jr. (Voddie Tharon Baucham, Jr.) was born on March 11th, 1969 and is currently 56 years old. Voddie T. Baucham Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. Baucham Jr. attended Houston Baptist University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity degree and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Doctor of Ministry degree. He also studied at New Mexico State University and Rice University, as well as postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford.
Voddie T. Baucham, Jr. is best known as a pastor, speaker, and theologian who has a reputation for an uncompromising stance on biblical truth. He is also known for being excellent at communicating complex theological concepts in an understandable and clear way.
He was brought up by a Buddhist mother in Los Angeles, but as a teenager, he experienced a powerful conversion to Christianity. Voddie Baucham would then devote his life to sharing and studying the gospel.
Baucham is particularly known for his emphasis on the role of fathers as spiritual leaders and the importance of family. He advocates a return to family life and parent, based on biblical principles.
Voddie has also criticized the erosion of biblical values in modern culture in issues of sexuality and gender in addition to fighting the
Social Justice Movement and
Critical Race Theory.
For many years, he served as the pastor of the Spring, Texas-based Grace
Family Baptist Church of the
Southern Baptist Convention.
He would then move to Zambia where he worked at the
African Christian University as Dean of Theology. He has also been a visiting professor at various universities and seminaries across the United States.
In addition to his work lecturing in universities and seminaries, he is active in conference appearances and speaking engagements where he addresses cultural issues, the family, and masculinity from a Christian perspective. He is also involved in various initiatives and organizations such as
The Black Conservative Summit and
Founders Ministries.
In 2021, Voddie Baucham published
Fault Lines, a work in which he explains the sinister machinations behind Critical Race Theory and the social justice movement.
According to Baucham, these have infiltrated many seminaries resulting in lost livelihoods, canceled careers, and denominational conflict. He asserts that this is a fault line that is a threat to the evangelical church in particular and American culture in general.
The Ever Loving Truth is Voddie Baucham’s debut work in which he explores the cost of being a 21st-century Christian.
He draws parallels between Peter and John followers of Christ who stood for the gospel in a very hostile environment just like committed Christians in modern society. He also helps readers make use of the bible to deal with modern life issues.
In 2006, Voddie T. Baucham Jr. published
The Centrality of the Home in Evangelism and Discipleship.
Baucham asserts that the home is critical in discipleship and training and hence parents need to take their role as shepherds very seriously while embracing the joy of their biblical responsibilities and duties.
