T. Colin Campbell

T. Colin Campbell was born on March 14th, 1934 and is currently 91 years old. T. Colin Campbell was born in Virginia, USA.

T. Colin Campbell is a man who has dedicated his life to the science of human life, which he has done for more than six decades. His primary emphasis is the association between disease and diet, particularly cancer.

Even though Campbell is best known for his work in The China Study, in which he did extensive studies of nutrition and health, he has also done some extensive work in laboratory research, public policy, and education.

His first job in academia was at the Department of Nutrition and Biochemistry at Virginia Tech. He would then move to Cornell in 1975, where he was Professor Emeritus and Jacob Gould Schurman Endowed Chair of Nutritional Biochemistry.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s research experience includes both large-scale human studies and laboratory experiments. Most of his research has been funded from peer-reviewed public sources such as the US State Department and the NIH.

Colin has also been on the grant review panels of a range of funding agencies and has had a role in the development of international and national health and nutritional policy. He is the author of more than 350 research papers, many of which have been published in prestigious science journals.

For much of his career, he has had to deal with a lot of public controversy and confusion over nutrition, particularly about corporate and for-profit control of nutrition messages.

He continues to lecture on nutrition and health and has delivered more than a thousand lectures across the world. He is also the founder of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies.

In 2004, Dr. T. Colin Campbell published his most influential work, The China Study. It is an extensive exploration of how nutrition is connected to long-term health. Campbell argues that diets rich in processed foods and animal proteins usually result in widespread illness.
He urges people to reexamine traditional dietary guidelines and to embrace minimally processed and natural foods to prevent disease and enhance overall well-being.

Nearly a decade after his seminal study, Dr. T. Colin Campbell published Whole, a work in which he asserts that we have long overlooked the importance of plant-based whole foods.

Making use of extensive research and rigorous analytics, he questions modern dietary guidelines and advocates for more holistic nutritional strategies to optimize well-being and prevent chronic diseases.
