My favorite Molly Harper novel is ‘Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs.’ I hadn’t read paranormal romance in years when I came across the book, and it made me laugh in ways I never thought possible.
I’ll be honest. Harper’s novels don’t have depth. Whenever I say that to diehard Molly Harper fans, some of them take it as an insult, which is not what I intend it to be.
Her books don’t have depth. More importantly, they don’t need it. I have a whole shelf of overly serious literature that I can read whenever I want to engage my brain. But I don’t need every book I read to take the same approach to storytelling. I want variety. I want stories I can read when I just want to have a good time. Harper scratches that itch for me.
