As an avid biker, I have loved Cameron’s novels that usually feature bikers and bikes form the likes of the Harley Davidson that belonged to Jericho Quinn to Ducatis, and Royal Enfields.
Power and Empire is one of Cameron’s best as it comes with plenty of action and details the high tech spycraft and weapons we have to love about the Clancy novels. Cameron is a master that adeptly juggles three different story lines but still manages to stitch them all together in the end.
Stone Cross is another favorite novel of mine given its multilayered and intricate plots and characters. Cameron writes a suspenseful tale that builds a to a violent but satisfying conclusion. All his characters have their own believable backgrounds and fully realize their destiny.
Marc Cameron’s Act of Terror is probably my best of all his novels with its over the top and action packed action sequences featuring Jericho Quinn of USAF. Most of the characters in the novel are typical but I loved the mayhem, peril, treachery, explosions and bloodbaths that Cameron provides on a grand scale.
I dip in and out of the Ryan Universe every few years. It isn’t the best way to explore this series because I typically read whatever Jack Ryan novel came out that year, as well as the last two or three titles from previous years.
Naturally, some of the developments are mind-boggling because they seemingly come out of nowhere. For instance, I can’t believe Jack Ryan is the president. I probably read the novel where it happens and forgot.
It doesn’t matter. I still enjoy these novels, and unlike some Tom Clancy fans, Mark Greaney’s departure did not bother me because I think Marc Cameron did a decent job of filling his shoes. Though, I would prefer it if the author prioritized his original stories and characters.
Big fan of the Arliss Cutter novels and look forward to more of them. Also like his Jack Ryan novels as well.
