I am obsessed with Longworth. It sounds selfish, but I want her to give us two books a year instead of one because I can’t get enough of the interesting community she has created.
The person who recommended these books to me did so unintentionally. They complained that the first novel was less of a mystery and more of a tour. The author spent far too much time exploring the daily activities of her fictional community.
The description sounded wonderful to me, so I read Death at the Chateau Bremont, and it was everything I could have wanted. I can’t help it. I love novels like this that allow me to sit with engaging characters for long periods. I could spend another three dozen books in Provence, and I wouldn’t complain.
