What I love about Kristin Higgins is that, at the end of the day, she’s just a great writer. Some authors are lauded for their originality when, in truth, they rely on gimmicky concepts to hide their weaknesses.
I remember reading The Best Man a few months ago and telling my reading group that I had given it a 3-star rating online. This surprised them because they knew I hated it. And they were not wrong.
The Best Man was lacking in so many ways. And yet, it was still better than most romance novels I read this year because it had the humor and heart I have grown to expect from Kristin. Even when she disappoints, Kristin’s stories are still entertaining.
