Joan Collins

Joan Collins (Joan Henrietta Collins) was born on May 23rd, 1933 and is currently 92 years old. Joan Collins was born in London, England. Collins attended Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Joan Collins is one of the most celebrated British actresses who made her name with her provocative and glamorous roles. Her most famous role was when she acted in Dynasty, the hit TV series.

Collins came from a very artistic family, as her mother was a dancer and her father an agent, which meant she was introduced very early to the entertainment industry. Aged only 13, she debuted on stage and would later study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

On screen, she made her debut during the 1950s when she got minor roles before having her breakout in the 1952 release I Believe in You, where she acted the part of a rebellious teenager. In British films, she loved portraying the provocateur and seductress, and it was not long before she was known as Britain's Bad Girl.

Joan Collins had her breakthrough in Hollywood when she was cast in the 1955 release, Land of the Pharaohs, which resulted in a contract with Twentieth Century Fox. Over the years, she was frequently cast as a femme fatale and vamp in TV and film.

Collins came into her own when she acted in Dynasty as Alexis Carrington, which made her a television icon during the 1980s. After the series concluded, she went back to the stage with Private Lives, her Broadway debut in 1992.

For her work, she was made Dame Commander in 2015 following appointment to Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1997. For much of her career, she was a fixture in entertainment, celebrated for her enduring glamour, wit, and charisma.

Joan Collins' very first book was the 1980 publication The Joan Collins Beauty Book. This is a guide to self-care and beauty in which she draws from her insights and experiences.

Collins shares advice on exercise, skincare, diet, makeup application, and overall wellness, even as she advocates consistency, discipline, and balance over extreme lifestyles.

Joan Collins published her first standalone work, Love & Desire & Hate, in 1991. The work is a passionate tale set in Acapulco in 1995, full of secrets, revenge, and passion.

The lead is Ines Dessault, who leaves behind Nazi occupied Paris and a traumatic past and remakes herself into a sophisticated courtsan in England.

As her love affair with Julian Brooks, the British film star, deepens, Ines has to deal with rivals, jealousy, and a brutal Italian general she once tried to take out.

In 2015, Joan Collins came out with only her second single-standing novel The St. Tropez Lonely Hearts Club.

The lead is Contessa Carlotta di Ponti, a stunning and wealthy woman seeking love along the Côte d’Azur after coming out of an abusive marriage. But as she parties at a billionaire's estate, a series of suspicious deaths rocks their world.

Detective Gabrielle Poulpe comes in to investigate, and amid the lies, lust, and luxury, Gabrielle will need to expose the killer before he destroys the image of her beloved town.
