I read up on Fforde before I took that final step to buy his novels. These days, things are a little tight financially, and I don’t want to waste money on terrible books. Initially, I couldn’t make sense of Fforde. From what I could see, he had written fantasy, YA, and alternative history.

He had also worked in the movie industry. But that did not tell me anything. Or, at the very least, it wasn’t enough to tell me that I would enjoy his work. So, I went to GoodReads to see what people had to say about him.

Guess what I saw? A review of ‘The Eyre Affair’ from Patrick Rothfuss, one of my favorite authors. Yes, I have already ordered ‘The Eyre Affair.’ My only hope is that Patrick did not exaggerate.
