I read the first novels in the Kate Young, Robyn Carter, and Natalie Ward series. I wanted to see how well they compared to one another. The Young and Carter series fascinated me because they had similar beginnings.
In each series, the protagonist is a tired detective forced to return to work after suffering unexpected trauma.
I wonder whether Carol Wyer did that on purpose. Natalie Ward’s story started on a different footing. Although, like Young and Carter, she had several balls to juggle before her work as a detective entered the picture and made things even more difficult.
For now, I think I’ll continue with Kate Young. At the moment, she is the most interesting of the trio.
