Allison Brennan is an author that juggles the many stories he throws into the air as a master. I love that he writes complex yet compelling stories in most of his series.
The lead in my favorite Lucy Kincaid series is a woman that had once upon a time been attacked and left for dead after an encounter with an online predator. She survives the ordeal and applies to join the FBI specializing in cyber crime alongside private investigator and security expert Sean Rogan.
Brennan writes riveting and creepy murder mysteries and unlike many authors I found it difficult to guess the villain. I often cannot put down any of his novels until I have turned the last page and sen how every thread is tied up.
I never understood the point of websites like this one until I read the first Lucy Kincaid novel. The person that lent the book to me had nothing but high praise for this author. I loved the concept. Lucy was trying to save potential victims from the same fate that haunted her nightmares.
But people kept dying, and in the eyes of the police, she had transitioned from hero to killer. But then I met Carina Kincaid in the next novel my friend recommended, and it confused me.
The third book (I think it was ‘Fear No Evil) was even more perplexing because we were back with Lucy. But this time, she was a high school kid waiting to graduate. I think I read all these eBooks out of order. I need to start again, from scratch.
New author for me. Read North of Nowhere and stayed up late to finish the book. I will be reading more of her books.
Love those books that keep you up. I’ll check that one out!
Sudden Death – starting to work my way through Allison Brennan books, both audio and digital. Looking forward to checking them off.
Just finished Fatal Secrets, #2 of a 3 part series (so far). # 3 is on hold!! Everythng I’ve read by this author (which isn’t a lot yet, but will be more!!) has been excellent.
Love Me to Death – 1st book in the Lucy Kincaid series. I read another one and thought it would make sense to start from the beginning.
Kiss Me, Kill Me is #2 in the Lucy Kinkaid series. I really like the story lines of the author. What would greatly improve the series for me would be to get rid of the multiple uses of the “f” word (which I can ignore by reading over) and the explicit sex scenes. If that continues, I might move on.
Cutting Edge – Finished the FBI series. Enjoyed the series but taking a break to tackle some other authors on my TBR list.
Killing Fear – one of those books when other things go undone because you can’t put the book down.
The Sorority Murder – good example of how little things by a number of people can solve a cold case.
Don’t Open the Door – another good book by Allison Brennan
