If you’re anything like me, and you’re tired of the wave of psychological thrillers emerging from both new and experienced authors that are still trying to ride the ‘Gone Girl’ wave, Alafair Burke is the perfect author for you.
I was done with psychological thrillers as a whole until I read ‘The Wife.’ I love the fact that Burke takes her time. Other authors want to leave readers breathless with the heart-pounding pace of their stories.
But Burke’s narrative is slower, more methodical, guided by complex and flawed characters with distinct personalities. Burke has become the one author whose books I pre-order because I know she won’t disappoint me.
