The librarian who gave me ‘Murder in an Irish Village’ stopped reading it because it had too many errors. I don’t know what they were talking about because I didn’t notice any mistakes.
I wasn’t sure why I consumed so many cozy mystery novels until I discovered Carlene. I loved the village of Kilbane, especially when I switched over to the audiobooks. I was swept away by the warm, friendly community and the charm of the quirky characters.
Carlene makes Kilbane such an inviting place that I would happily abandon my life this instant to live beside Siobhan and her friends. I have experimented with traditional mysteries, but they don’t have the same pull.
I dearly love the Irish Village Mystery books. So easy to get caught up in them and read them in one sitting! Looking forward to reading Murder at an Irish Chipper!
I recently finished Murder in an Irish Churchyard. My sweet daughter-in-law gave me 4 books from the series for Christmas. I really enjoyed this book, though I quickly realized it was not the first in the series, so I came to Book Notification to search for Carlene O’Connor’s earlier books. I checked out the first book in this series, Murder in and Irish Village, from my local library and I am now learning the beginning details related to the characters. I’m about halfway through it. The tricky thing for me is pronouncing some of the names but thank goodness I can find that info on the internet. I definitely plan to read more of this series and may check out more of Carlene O’Connor’s other books. Cozy mystery series are my favorite genre. It is interesting to see how an author develops the characters and their relationships with each other.
