I expected Weaver to write in a more exciting genre. When I heard that he worked as a video game journalist, my mind immediately jumped to the other video game enthusiasts I knew that had written science fiction and litRPGs.
Crime fiction is the last genre I expected Weaver to target. Then again, I don’t know anything about the man. Yes, he was a video game journalist, but that doesn’t mean he likes video games. And I suppose it’s a little silly to assume that video game fanatics can only write video game-inspired stories.
I enjoy the David Raker books. Once I discarded my expectations, Raker won me over.
