Susan Lewis is one of those authors I grew to love after learning that she lost her mother to cancer at the age of 9. I know someone who suffered a similar fate, and it devasted them.
I know it is a little odd to think that I only read ‘No Child of Mine’ because of the sense of kinship I felt towards the author. I learned about her charity work and concluded that reading her stories was the least I could do.
But that is not why I went on to devour every novel in her bibliography. At her core, Susan is a great writer. If I was to point to one attribute that makes her books a must-read, it would be the emotional rollercoaster that drivers her stories.
Any work that blends family drama and mystery always gets my attention, and the Andrea Lawrence series is one of them. I admired how Andrea Balanced between her police work and personal life. Susan Lewis is one of the authors who write their subjects well to keep the readers coming for more Behind Closed Doors is the kind of mystery novel that fans of police procedural do not wish to miss. The mystery is so intriguing, and the outstanding set of characters made it even more fascinating. No child of mine is an unflinching and suspenseful novel about the dark secrets that some family hides. Susan creates characters that are realistic and believable. I’m looking forward to more list of books since she hasn’t been disappointed in any of her books so far.
