Can see why Stephen King is listed under “author insights.” Am 50 pages in and I feel that same sort of unease — the world created seems normal but there is some discomforting force ready to upend things.

Finished today. This is far more wonderful that the eeriness of the beginning seemed to promise. The anticipation of a truly dreadful event happening was almost too much for me to continue to read. But I am so glad I did, because once past that event, and though it haunts the rest of the book, I was able to sink into the scenery, events, tribulations and ultimate triumphs in the life of Victoria Nash. A read that left me drenched emotionally — in a good way.
