Sam Giancana

Sam Giancana was born on May 24th, 1908. Sam passed away June 19th, 1975 at 67 years old. Sam Giancana was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Sam Giancana was one of the most influential and feared figures in Chicago's organized crime.

During the 1950s, he was the leader of Al Capone’s criminal organization, known for his ruthless and bold moves that generated massive profits. He also had a reputation for violence and often killed rivals.

In his early years, Sam Giancana was active in the 42 Gang, where he served as an enforcer and driver. During this time, he was arrested for a range of crimes, including burglary, car theft, and running illegal alcohol sales. While he was also suspected of murder, he was never convicted.

According to biographers, he had dozens of arrests to his name, underscoring how close he lived to a life of lawlessness and danger.

In 1957, Giancana took over Tony Accardo’s position, who had nominated him since he was stepping aside. Sam expanded his criminal organization beyond Chicago, investing in casinos in Las Vegas and abroad.

Sam lived a flashy lifestyle and was involved with several women following the death of his wife. He was also involved in politics and famously helped mobilize support for John F. Kennedy during the 1960 presidential election.

However, once elected, Kennedy was strong on organized crime, which angered Mob leaders, including Giancana. Following the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy, Giancana was connected to the crime, but nothing has ever been proven.

He was killed in an execution-style popular with the Mob in his home in 1975.

In 1998, Sam Giancana published 30 Seconds, which tells the story of the secret son of the Chicago Mafia boss named Marty English.

He won a huge deal to make a Super Bowl ad for a herbal drug in Belize, but has hardly any time to do it. But what he does not know is that the company works with the CIA, the Mob, and a shady eco resort that is a front for a massive drug laboratory.

There is chaos when his father refuses to join the venture. Marty finds himself in possession of secret bank codes on a disk and has to trust his partner and a county cop to crack them if he is to survive.

In Double Cross, which he published in 1992, Sam Giancana tells the behind-the-scenes workings of power and crime inside the Mob.

It tells of Sam's rise in the Mob in Chicago and his ties to secret deals and famous people. According to Giancana, he helped John F. Kennedy get votes in Chicago and was then left feeling betrayed when the Kennedys went after the Mafia.

He tells of the secret plans to take out Castro with the help of the Mob, as he asks the reader to question how history, crime, and government often crossed paths behind closed doors.
