Molly Keane: Biography

Molly Keane (Mary Nesta Skrine) was born on July 20th, 1904. Molly passed away April 22nd, 1996 at 91 years old. Molly Keane was born in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland.

Molly Keane (Mary Nesta Skrine) is probably best known for her Standalone Novels. There are currently 17 novels available. The first standalone was released in 1921 with the novel The Knight of Cheerful Countenance. The most recently released novel was Loving and Giving / Queen Lear which was released in 1988.

Molly Keane also wrote the Non-Fiction Books series which has 2 books including Molly Keane's Book of Nursery Cooking and Childhood Reflections and Molly Keane's Nursery Cooking.

Molly's novel Good Behaviour was adapted to a radio play in 1996.

Wrote her first novels and plays under the M.J. Farrell pen name because "for a woman to read a book, let alone write one was viewed with alarm; I would have been banned from every respectable house in Co. Carlow."
