Liu Cixin: Biography

Liu Cixin (Liu Cixin) was born on June 23rd, 1963 and is currently 60 years old. Liu Cixin was born in Beijing, China.

Liu Cixin is the author of The Three-Body Problem series which currently consists of 4 novels. The The Three-Body Problem series started in 2006 with the novel The Three-Body Problem. The most recently released novel in The Three-Body Problem series was The Redemption of Time which was released in 2019. There are no upcoming novels for The Three-Body Problem series.

Liu Cixin (Liu Cixin) has also written the Graphic Novels series which has 9 books including Sea of Dreams and The Wandering Earth.

Liu Cixin: TV/Movies Based on Books

The Three-Body Problem is to be adapted into an animated television show. The Hugo award-winning novel was expected to release December 2022 although hasn't yet. Cixin is very happy with the book being animated, stating that he feels it is a great art form for the book.

Netflix had also announced in 2020 that they were producing a TV series based on The Three-Body Problem. Series production reportedly began in November 2021, although in June 2022 more actors were announced for the TV series indicating it possibly hadn't started filming yet.



The Wandering Earth, a short story in the collection of the same name, was adapted into a movie in 2019. This Chinese sci-fi movie starred Qu Chuxiao and Zhao Jinmai. It was one of the highest-grossing films from China ever.

There was also a movie adaptation of The Three-Body Problem which was reportedly filmed in 2016 by Yoozoo Pictures. However there were issues with post-production, and the film was delayed. It does not sound like this movie will ever be released.

There was a sci-fi comedy movie called Crazy Alien, which was influenced by the short story The Rural Teacher by Liu. This was released in 2019.
