I watched Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries on ABC. I misjudged it because of the name. The title doesn’t exactly scream ‘1920s Historical Mystery’. I don’t read historical mysteries. But I decided to make an exception for Kerry Greenwood because the TV show was charming.

The books did not disappoint. I know some of the stories are silly. One of the novels actually incorporated voodoo and hypnotism into the plot. But you know what? If the Phryne Fisher books were straightforward historical mysteries, I wouldn’t have bothered with them.

I enjoy them because Greenwood has such a weird imagination. I like that weirdness.

I too love Miss FIsher’s Murder Mysteries. I am also enjoying her books with different characters. Both are entertaining and worth the read/watch.
