Texas Commerce Bank. When George H.W. Bush, his father, became a candidate for the US presidency, Jeb left his job to join his campaign.
Following a successful campaign in which his father became vice president, he moved to Florida and became a real estate developer. During that time, he was Dade County’s chairman of the Republican Party. In 1994, he ran for governor of the state on a conservative platform but lost to the Democratic candidate.

Profiles in Character, alongside Brian Yablonski. In this work, they address cultural decline in Florida, as they highlight issues such as a failing education system, rising crime rates, child poverty, juvenile delinquency, and out-of-wedlock births.
They advocate a return to virtue and character, as they assert that the erosion of culture stems from a breakdown in community values and personal responsibility.
Jeb Bush’s book,
Immigration Wars, came out in 2013. It is a non-partisan and practical work in which he proposes a six-point strategy for reimagining our policies, starting from erasing all outdated and existing immigration structures.
From there, the book provides a detailed plan for coming up with immigration policies that advance national goals.
Jeb Bush’s 2015 work,
Reply All, is a story of his governorship through his email correspondence with his staff, Floridians, and the media. He spent 25-30 hours every week using email to stay connected with his goal of becoming one of the best governors Florida ever had.
