If I ever publish my manuscript, Jean Grainger is the one author I want to emulate. I remember reading ‘The Star and the Shamrock’ and being shocked that it was so beautifully written. You could tell that Granger had poured significant resources into proofreading and editing the manuscript.

To be fair, at this point, I don’t know for a fact that she’s self-published. But the evidence I’ve seen thus far strongly suggests that she doesn’t have a traditional publisher.

If that is the case, I applaud the quality of her work. The few self-published novels I’ve read over the years are a mess. Grainger is a breath of fresh air.
